Its a long way to be stuck in the snow if you're not prepared. Highly recommended for all those travelling through the alpine area of the Snowy Mountains. A small price to pay for piece of mind!
We are located at the base of the mountain and chains are NOT required until you pass Talbingo travelling south. There is no chain hire between Talbingo and Adaminaby.
For all snow chain bookings, we will require your tyre size (eg 225 55 R18) which is printed on the side of each tyre (see image).
Pickup Time: Gear will be available for pick up from 4 pm the day before your booking.
Drop Off Time: All hire gear is to be returned by 6 pm on the last day of hire unless prior arrangements agreed
It is strongly advised to refer to your vehicle's owner's manual on the use of snow chains with your vehicle. Please refer to your vehicle's owner's manual to confirm if chains are suitable for use on your vehicle, what style of chains are suitable, and which tyres they are to be fitted on (ie Front or rear). It is the renter's responsibility to source this vehicle-specific information prior to fitting.
Chains should be fitted when directed by authorised NPWS, TfNSW, Police officers, or resort staff. While 4WD and AWD vehicles are not required by law to carry snow chains, it is recommended they do so due to the high incidence of vehicle accidents and the distances travelled in the Alpine areas of Kosciuszko National Park.
